I've had my Smart a year and I keep discovering things about it. I just happened upon the Security Code setting in the radio. I bought my Smart used. Any idea what the default code might be? Any ideas (besides going to the dealer) to get the code and/or reprogramming it? Try these places first: Glovebox - Some radio codes appear on a sticker in the glovebox. Vehicle handbook - You might find the code in your vehicle handbook under the stereo or security section. Alternatively, some codes are printed on a small paper or plastic card, found inside the handbook. Smart can obtain this code for you (price unknown) that, when entered into the stereo, will reset the security code back to 0000 allowing you to turn the stereo on, gain access to the menus and change the security code to something you'd remember.
